After a two-hour drive, Aashvika finally arrived at the construction site. As she stepped out of her car, she took a deep breath, gazing around at the sprawling structure. The sound of hammers and drills filled the air, and the smell of cement and paint wafted through her nostrils. She walked further, her heels clicking on the uneven ground.
As she walked inside, a tall figure emerged towards her, his eyes narrowing slightly as he took in her appearance. "Who are you?" he asked, his deep voice firm but curious.
Aashvika's smile faltered for a moment before she regained her composure. She rubbed the back of her hands awkwardly, feeling a bit self-conscious.
"Well, I am Aashvika Singhania, and I'm the event planner assigned by divya malhotra to plan the inauguration event of this mall." she explained, trying to sound confident. The man's gaze swept over her, taking in her professional attire and the notebook clutched in her hand. He nodded curtly, his expression softening slightly.
"Hello, I'm Atharv, divya is my mom." he said, his voice a little warmer now. Aashvika's eyes widened in surprise, and she stuttered out a greeting. "O-oh...um, nice to meet you, sir." Atharv's lips curled up in a warm smile.
"Don't call me sir, atharv is fine," he said, his eyes crinkling at the corners. Aashvika smiled back, feeling a bit more at ease.
"So, can I check out the mall now?" she asked, her pen poised over her notebook. Atharv's gaze lingered on her face for a moments before he nodded.
"Sure," he replied, his voice short but not unfriendly. Aashvika smiled and walked past him, her eyes scanning the interior of the mall as she began to visualize the layout and decorations. Atharv watched her go, his expression thoughtful.

AASHVIKA'S POV:
As i walked inside the mall, my eyes widened in surprise. The lobby was enormous, with a soaring ceiling that seemed to stretch up to the sky. The stores, though still under construction, gave a glimpse of the grandeur that the mall would soon boast. I felt a thrill of excitement as I took in the sights and sounds of the bustling construction site.
I made my way to the elevator and pressed the button, but it didn't budge. I frowned, looking around for a sign of what was wrong.
That's when I spotted a worker standing at a distance. Walking over to him,"Is the elevator not working?" I asked, as he nodded in response.
"Yes, ma'am, it will start on the inauguration day," he said. "though, if you want, you can take the stairs." He pointed to the staircase, and I nodded my head as a sign of thanks. I walked over to the stairs and began to climb, my heels clicking on the concrete steps. I skipped the first two floors, my destination being the fourth floor.
As I emerged from the staircase, I was struck by the contrast between the finished lobby and the unfinished top floor. The fourth floor was still a work in progress, with exposed wires and half-finished walls.
"Can this be done by today?" I thought as i walked further, my curiosity getting the best of me.
The air was thick with the smell of paint and dust, and I could hear the sound of hammering and drilling echoing through the corridors.
As i turned towards a corner, i stumbled upon an open viewpoint that took my breath away. The entire city of Mumbai stretched out before me, a breathtaking panorama of skyscrapers and streets that seemed to go on forever. The sky above was a brilliant blue, with just a few wispy clouds scattered across it.
I stood there, in awe, my eyes taking in the stunning view. A wide smile spread across my face as i felt a sense of excitement building up inside me. For a moment, i forgot about the construction chaos around me and simply enjoyed the beauty of the city.
As I stood there, lost in thought, a voice suddenly broke the silence behind me.
"Who's that?" A deep, husky voice rang in my ears, making me jump. I turned around, my eyes scanning the area.
Not noticing the edge of the floor that i was standing on, as i turned around and my heels slipped. I gasped, my eyes widening in horror as I felt myself falling.
Time seemed to slow down as I teetered on the edge, my mind screaming in terror.
"No, no, no, this can't be happening right now." i thought, my heart racing like crazy. I squeezed my eyes shut, bracing myself for the impact..
...that actually never came?
Instead, i felt a strong hand wrap around my wrist, holding me in air. My eyes flew open, and i found myself staring at a strong hand holding my wrist tightly, afraid that i would fall, the fingers wrapping around my delicate skin with a gentle yet firm pressure that made me feel both secure and trapped.
And then, he pulled me towards him with a jerk, making me gasp. I closed my eyes in fear once again expecting to be crashing into something else but instead, i felt myself crashing into a solid wall.
"Wait what? A wall?" I thought and slowly opened my eyes.
But instead of the wall, it was indeed something else.
I gulped as i took in the sight infront of me. The unknown man's chest was just a few centimetres away from mine.
Feeling my body almost crashed into his, i felt a rush of adrenaline inside my body. I stood there, frozen, as he towered over me, i could feel his eyes over me, burning with an intensity that made my skin prickle. The warmth of his body enveloped me, making me feel both safe and trapped at the same time. The black shirt he wore was stretched all over his muscles, emphasizing his physique.
As i slowly lifted my eyes to look over at the man, a small gasp left my mouth. His face was just a few inches away from mine, his jawline strong and defined, with a hint of stubble that added a rugged edge to his features. I could feel his warm breath on my skin, making my heart skip a beat.
As i stared into his honey-brown eyes, i felt my world being froze.Β
Those eyes were the most beautiful pair of eyes that i've ever seen.
I felt like i am being pulled into their depths, like i am being sucked into a deep ocean. My heart was racing, and I couldn't even muster up my courage to look away from them. It was as if i could get lost in them without complaining. I felt a shiver run down my spine as our eyes held each other tight.
The sound of my own breathing was the only thing I could hear, as I struggled to catch my breath. The man's eyes seemed to hold a million questions, but his gaze was intense, as if he was trying to see right through me. I felt so exposed under his gaze.
"Are you okay?" he asked, his voice low and husky, sending shivers down my spine. The words were a low rumble, vibrating through his chest and into mine. I swallowed hard, trying to find my voice, but it was stuck in my throat. All I could do was stare up at him, my heart pounding in my chest like a drumbeat.
I stood there, frozen, unable to say a word. Slowly, I nodded my head, my eyes dropping to the floor as I broke the intense gaze. My cheeks burned with embarrassment as I felt his closeness. He seemed to be invading my personal space, and I couldn't bear it. But just as I thought I was getting overwhelmed, he took a step back, giving me some space.
I let out a silent sigh of relief and took a step forward, trying to put some distance between us. I didn't want to be near the edge again, not after nearly falling into my death. As I moved forward, his deep voice stopped me. "What are you doing here? This place is still under construction."
I looked up at him, my eyes meeting his. "I...I..i...was just looking around...the m-mall," I whispered, trying to sound casual. But my stutter gave it away. I could feel his eyes narrowing at my words. After a moment of silent, he took a step closer, making me gulp as it got harder for me to breath.
"What is happening to me?" My voice echoed in my mind but no response came back.
"For what?" he asked, his voice firm, breaking my chain of thoughts.
I swallowed hard, trying to think of a response. "I...umm...I'm here for..." But before I could finish, his phone rang, shrill and loud. He pulled it out of his pocket and turned away, answering the call. "Yeah?" he said, his voice low and serious.
As he walked away, talking to someone on the phone, I let out a sigh of relief. I stood there, feeling a little shaken and a lot confused.
Who was he?
Looking back at the edge, and then once again at the retreating figure, a sigh left my mouth."He saved me and i could'nt even thank him."
Walking back inside the mall, i continued exploring it, writing down important things in my notepad.
AUTHOR'S POV:
After exploring the whole mall, aashvika went back home and told divya about all the things that she would need.
She also called rushika and some other friends of hers to ask for their help and they were all more than happy to help her.
The next few days for aashvika were like a blur. She was extremely busy in her work. Aashvika went to the mall site many times but couldn't meet that unknown man for once.
In these days, her heart wasn't at peace for once. A strong feeling of curiosity was emerging inside her. Her desire to meet that man for once was growing rapidly, day-by-day. "What was this magic of the unknown man?" Was what she thought everytime he crossed her mind.
Somewhere, she knew that it was more than just wanting to thank him for saving her. She was getting interested in wanting to uncover the unknown man's identity but he was nowhere to be seen.
Everyday, she would go to mall site, hoping to meet him but he wouldn't be there. She would feel a little disappointed each time she didn't see him but she couldn't even do anything about it.
So, pushing all her thoughts aside, she focused on her work and soon, it was completed.

In present time, aashvika was in her room, deciding her outfit for the inauguration ceremony.
Divya had given aashvika the invitation for the inauguration ceremony saying that she should come too, and she's going there with rushika as she didn't want to feel awkward, being there alone.
"Is this dress good?" Aashvika asked herself while looking at the mirror. Shaking her head, she sighed and looked towards her wardrobe.
Suddenly, her eyes fell on a dress, her eyes sparkled in excitement. "It's perfect." Muttering the words to herself, aashvika walked towards it. Immediately taking the dress, she went towards the washroom to get ready.
15 minutes later, she walked out the washroom. She walked towards the mirror, taking a look at herself, she smiled.
She was wearing a long, sleek blue dress that glittered with tiny silver sparkles all over, catching the light like tiny stars on fabric. The dress hugged her body from the chest down to her feet, its smooth lines making it look elegant and fitted. It was a strapless gown, leaving her shoulders bare, and it shone softly in the night, making her look glamorous.
Leaving her, long dark hair open, she did some light make-up. She paired the dress with a ring and a watch. Looking at her reflection in the mirror, she smiled and that's when, a car honk reached her ears as they perked up at the sound.
"Must be rushika." She muttered, taking her phone and her clutch, she walked out the house.
"Woah, you look gorgeous!" Aashvika spoke as she took a look at rushika.
She was wearing a stunning red dress. The dress had thin straps and a square neckline that fits tightly at the waist, then flows into a beautiful, full midi skirt. She was wearing a pearl necklace and a matching bracelet along with silver heels.
"You're talking about me? You look so stunning!" Rushika exclaimed looking at aashvika, making her smile widely.
"Alright, let's go now." Aashvika spoke making rushika nod. They both sat in rushika's car and left.

Reaching their destination, rushika and aashvika stepped down their car and they were left astonished. The entrance was crowded with people and reporters. Aashvika scanned the whole area, her lips curved into a satisfied smile.
She looked at her left side and saw a huge prop where many people were taking photos which she had settled herself, knowing that it will attract the customers. Then her gaze fell in her right side where another beautiful prop was standing for the malhotra family to walk down.
"I indeed did a good job." Aashvika thought and started talking to rushika. They also took some photos together, laughing sillily at their photos.
After a few minutes, aashvika's gaze fell on a large car coming there, standing infront of the audience. People rushed towards the limousine and the entrance prop which was set up for the malhotra family.
"It's the malhotra family, come on let's go!" Rushika squealed and dragged aashvika towards the crowd. They both stood at the back of the crowd as the people were pushing eachother for space.
AASHVIKA'S POV:
"Do you think that the owner will be handsome?" Rushika asked making me glare at her. She just nervously giggled, making me sigh.
"Seriously? How can you simp on someone whom you've never even seen?" I asked her with a frown visible on my forehead. To which, rushika stared back at me with a smirk and spoke, "Love is blind, darling."
Hearing her words, i just shook my head and chuckled at her childish behaviour. Looking back at the scene infront of us, we saw the door of the limousine opening as many bodyguards surrounded it.
A beautiful elderly woman stepped down along with divya ma'am and a man. "Might be her husband." I thought and just shrugged off. Followed by them, two more couples stepped down the car. The photographers clicked their pics.
"Wow, he is so handsome!" Rushika exclaimed, making me look at her. "And married." I spoke, making her chuckle.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm not a homewrecker anyways." She exclaimed defending herself making me chuckle. I looked back at the entrance and saw a young man stepping down the limousine. He looked the same age as abhi. He wore a brown coloured suit and paired it with a pair of transparent glasses which made him look cute.
"He reminds me of abhi." I thought and smiled to myself.
I looked back at rushika and i was left shocked. She was checking out sahil?
"Rushika? Rushika?? RUSHIKA??" I whisper-yelled and shook her, making her look at me.
"Yeah, yeah, what happened??" Rushika asked making me look at her with widened eyes.
"What happened to you idiot?? Did you fall in love or something?" I asked making rushika stare at her with widened eyes. I smirked at her reaction, making her cheeks blush.
"Shut up and just look infront." Rushika scolded me making me chuckle.
I looked back in the front. The photographers started clicking photos as soon as the door of the limousine opened once again.
After a few seconds, a tall, masculine and handsome man stepped outside, making me widen my eyes. It felt as if the air had been sucked out of my lungs as my gaze lingered at the man standing infront of my eyes.
"Him?"
The voice echoed in my head, as the realisation dawned upon me.
"It's him."
"The one who saved me that day."
"The one whom i had been yearning to meet since that day."
"He's been so close to me yet so far away?"
Thousands of thoughts crossed my mind but they were all chased away when rushika shook me, making me look at her.
"What happened?" I asked her, making her chuckle.
"Did you fall in love now?" Rushika asked me making me widen my eyes.
I gulped and spoke, "N-no, are you stupid?" Hearing me stutter, she chuckled. Looking back to the front, i saw him scanning the whole area and while everyone had an impressed look on their, he didn't really give much of a reaction.
"Did he not like my work?" I thought while frowning but just shook my head realising that I'm probably overthinking.
I took in his whole appearance, he was wearing a black suit along with black shirt that fit his body perfectly. The top two buttons of his shirt were opened displaying a nice view of his well-built chest.
"He's so handsome." Rushika mumbled and i couldn't even deny her words.
"He was handsome.
Devilishly Handsome.
Gorgeous.
Almost Divine.
No.
He WAS the definition of divine."
My chain of thoughts were again broken down when i was pushed back because of some reporters. I looked around and saw reports and photographers pushing eachother to take his pictures.
My gaze wandered around and stopped on a little girl who was standing in between the photographers. A reporter stumbled back and accidentally pushed the little girl.
Immediately pushing through the crowd, i ran towards her. I held her arms to help her stand when suddenly, I felt another pair of long veiny hands caressing my skin lightly. Almost accidentally.
My gaze trailed from the hands to the arm, to the neck and finally, to the face.
"And there he was, kneeling down right beside me.
Staring at me with that same look.
And there i was.
Once again drowning in his eyes, slowly feeling the world fading away right before my eyes."
